Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: measured in Fresnal Canyon along Highway 83 east of La Luz in north end of Sacramento Mountains; exposures are in roadcut, in NW/4 sec. 30, T. 15 S., R. 11 E., Otero Co., NM (Thompson, 1942).


AAPG geologic province:

Orogrande basin
