Type section: Tonnie Creek, from 5600 ft S. 50 deg. E. of Tonnie Peak, continuing upstream for 600 ft, Iniskin Peninsula, Cook Inlet region, southwestern AK. Named from Cynthia Falls on Hardy Creek, Iniskin Peninsula (Detterman, 1963).
