An area of about 17 sq km between San Simeon and Santa Rosa Creeks, in secs. 11, 12, 13, 14, 23, and 24, T. 27 S., R. 8 E., Cambria quadrangle, San Luis Obispo Co., CA (Ernst and Hall, 1974).
Type section: exposures near Cambria, at Scott Rock, approx. 4000 ft northwest of Coast Union High School, in sec. 23, T. 27 S., R. 8 E., Cambria quadrangle, San Luis Obispo Co., CA (Hall, 1974).
Reference section: exposures along Santa Rosa Creek (CA Highway 41), approx. 4000 ft. east of Coast Union High School, and west-central part sec. 34, T. 27 S., R. 10 E., Cypress Mountain quadrangle, San Luis Obispo Co., CA (Hall, 1974).
