Type locality: North Fork of Cache Creek, between Cache Creek and Benmore Canyon (in T. 14 N., R. 6 W., and T. 13 N., R. 6 W.), Lower Lake and Bartlett Springs SE 7.5-min quadrangles, Lake Co., northern CA (Rymer, 1981).
Reference section: west-trending part of Blackeye Canyon, in N/2 N/2 sec. 13, T. 13 N., R. 7 W., from large bend in canyon westward to its mouth, Lower Lake 7.5-min quadrangle, Lake Co., northern CA (Rymer, 1981).
