Summary:

Named for Cockalorum Wash. Type area designated as exposures south of Nyeka Hill and west of Conglomerate Ridge, [T15N R52E], Fish Creek Range. Type section designated as exposures from west base of Conglomerate Ridge westward through Reef Hill in northern part of its outcrop, southern Fish Creek Range, Nye Co, NV. Composed of limestone, shale, siltstone, and sandstone. Is 366 m thick. Overlies correlative of Nevada Formation(?). Underlies Devils Gate Formation. Age is Middle Devonian based on biostratigraphic dating of corals.
