Unit Name History: Named (Stearns, 1936, Table 1). Overview (Stearns and others, 1938). Overview; Revised to 2nd formation from base (of 7) of Idaho Group (Malde and Powers, 1962). Redescribed; Areal limits (Axelrod, 1964; Coats, 1964). Isotopic dating (Armstrong and others, 1975). Restricted from Great Basin province, rocks reassigned to Big Island Formation (Coats, 1985).
