Title: Geologic map and digital database of the Cougar Buttes 7.5' quadrangle, San Bernardino County, California
Author: Powell, R.E., and Matti, J.C.
Original NGMDB identifier: 26228

Purpose: This file set is intended to make outdated Arc/INFO e00 files available as open-format shapefiles. No modification to files has been made. Projection was not changed.

Process: e00 files were imported to coverage, then converted to shapefile using the ArcMap commands “Import from e00 (conversion)” and “Feature Class to Shapefile” respectively. Related tables were preserved by opening in ArcMap and exporting to txt.

E00 files convert to (description extracted from coug_readme.txt):
coug_geo (Contacts, faults, map units, geologic unit labels (subclass anno.geo), annotated fault names (subclass anno.fault), annotated township and range in map collar(subclass anno.twn_rnge)) =
		coug_geo_anno_fault.shp
		coug_geo_anno_geo.shp
		coug_geo_anno_twn_rnge.shp
		coug_geo_arc.shp
		coug_geo_poly.shp
coug_pts (Attitudes (azimuth and dip data), annotated dip values (subclass anno.dip)) =
		coug_pts_anno_dip.shp
		coug_pts_point.shp
coug_ptsorn (Fold axis symbols (line ornamentation)) =
		coug_ptsorn_point.shp
	coug_str (Fold axes) =
		coug_str_arc.shp
coug_ldr (Leaders for annotated unit labels) =
