late Tertiary to Quaternary (Miocene to Pleistocene)*


Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type locality (for group): along Eel River from west of Scotia, Humboldt Co., north to Van Duzen River (Ogle, 1953).
Region occupied by terrace is commonly known to people of Humboldt Co. as "Wild-cat Country" [hence the name] (Lawson, 1894; Ogle, 1953).
