Along North Carolina State Road 1316 for about 0.5 mi north of Cannon Gap, which is 1 mi south of the community of Whaley, Lat. 36 deg. 13 min. 30 sec. N., Long. 82 deg. 56 min. 00 sec. W., Elk Park quadrangle, Avery Co., NC (Bartholomew and Lewis, 1984).
