Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: on VA State Road 750 along Keywood Branch, [btw. Litz and Keywood], about 0.5 mi north of the former community of Seven Springs, [Glade Spring 7.5-min quadrangle], Washington Co., southwestern VA (Cooper, 1956; Haynes and Goggin, 1993).
Named from exposures at southwestern end of Walker Mountain, Washington Co., southwestern VA (Butts and Edmundson, 1943).
