Type section: on south bank of Bradshaw Creek, 0.4 mi southeast of Water Valley School and 1.5 mi north of Tygett School, near center NE/4 NW/4 sec. 24, T. 11 S., R. 1 W., Carbondale quadrangle, Union Co., IL (Swann, 1963).
