Type area: along the middle reaches of Squaw Gulch [now Santa Rita Gulch], east of Salero Mine, Santa Rita Mountains, Mount Wrightson quadrangle, Santa Cruz Co., AZ (Drewes, 1968).
[The geographic feature Squaw Gulch, from which the geologic name was taken (Drewes, 1968), was renamed Santa Rita Gulch (U.S. Board on Geographic Names, September 2022, USGS GNIS FeatureID 34772) in accordance with the Department of the Interior's Secretarial Order 3404.]
