Exposures on walls of Shingle Mill Canyon drainage basin, in sec. 18 and 19, T. 6 S., R. 4 E., Utah Co., UT. Origin of name not stated by author, but probably named from Shingle Mill Canyon (Baker, 1972). .
[Discrepancy in GNU records (USGS DDS-6) concerning the original reference (Baker, 1972 or 1976). For now, Baker (1972) is credited with designating the type locality.]
