Type section: along Shin Brook, in SW/4 T. 6 N., R. 7 W., Shin Pond quadrangle, Penobscot Co., northeastern ME. Section starts at old bridge abutment at foot of old road leading west from temporary bench mark 878 ft, or 6300 ft N. 62 deg. W. from southwest corner of T. 6 N., R. 7 W. (Neuman, 1964).
