Type section: exposures in Shanks quarry, 0.1 mi northeast of interchange 8 overpass on U.S. Interstate Highway I-64 in eastern Louisville, Lat. 38 deg. 41 min. 51 sec. N., Long. 85 deg. 41 min. 56 sec. W., Louisville East quadrangle, Jefferson Co., north-central KY (Conkin and others, 1992).
