late Tertiary (middle Miocene)


Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type locality: at mouth of Rocky Coulee, just west of Vantage, Kittitas Co., central southern WA. Well exposed in highway cut on east side of Columbia River about 1 mi south of Vantage (Mackin, 1961).


AAPG geologic province:

Eastern Columbia basin
