Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type area: west and north of village of Las Ollas (Hodge, 1920).
Type locality: outcrops along Rio Descalabrado, between Cerro de Las Cuevas and Canas Arriba fault about 1.0 km to the south, Rio Descalabrado quadrangle, Puerto Rico (Glover and Mattson, 1967).
