Well developed at base of Wasatch Mountains in form of terraces, deltas, spits, bars, beaches, and deeper water deposits. Well developed on western side of Lake Mountain.
Reference locality designated in part of the Cottonwood delta that is graded to the Provo shoreline and extends from Alta Airpark to a point about 0.5 mi north of Cottonwood Creek near south edge of Butterville, Salt Lake Co., UT (Morrison, 1965).
