Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: on hillside about 50 ft above Popcorn Spring, 3.5 mi northwest of Springville, about 700 ft west of Popcorn Church, and 200 ft north of section line, SE/4 SE/4 sec. 5, T. 6 N., R. 2 W., Owensburg quadrangle, Lawrence Co., IN (Swann, 1963).
