Named from Pony Spring, on west side of Pony Park, near northwestern corner sec. 28, T. 12 S., R. 77 W., Park and Chaffee Cos., CO (Gould, 1935).
[Principal reference section]: measured in secs. 20, 29, 32, and 33, T. 12 S., R. 77 W., and in secs. 5 and 16, T. 13 S., R. 77 W., Park Co., CO (Gould, 1935; Stark and others, 1949, p. 152-153).
