Not designated. Present in subsurface. Presumably named from Shell Oil Company Pine unit 23-30 well, in NE/4 SE/4 sec. 30, T. 12 N., R. 57 E., Wibaux Co., MT (Zieglar, 1955).
Principal reference section (subsurface): depth-interval 5,237 to 5,432 ft, Carter Oil Company L.L. Johnson No. 1 well, in NW/4 sec. 9, T. 129 N., R. 106 W., Bowman Co., ND (Dow, 1967).
