Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type area: extends along the Morovis-Orocovis Highway from locality 6 in Barrio Gato northward to a locality 7 just south of the Rio Grande de Manati, Ciales quadrangle, Puerto Rico. Named from outcrops along banks of highway that crosses Quebrada Perchas in Barrio Pesas, Municipio de Morovis (Berryhill, 1965, see pl. 1).
