Type locality: west flank of Augusta Mountains, in sec. 21, T. 25 N., R. 39 E., Cain Mountain 15-min quadrangle, Pershing Co., north-central NV (Burke and Silberling, 1973).
Type area: southwest slope of Augusta Mountain in north end of Dixie Valley (Osobb Valley of Fortieth Parallel survey) (Compton, 1960; Burke and Silberling, 1973).
