Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: in Missouri River bluffs extending through Omadi Twp., Dakota Co., eastern NE. Term Omadi relates to an abandoned town, Omaha Creek, and the Omaha Indians (Condra and Reed, 1943).
