Type section: Exposure in a W-flowing tributary to Coal Creek, 4 mi N of the village of Oconee, SE/4 SE/4 SE/4 sec. 34, T. 11 N., R. 1 E., approximately 300 ft N of the County Line Road in Christian Co., IL (Nance and Treworgy, 1981).
