Type section: in large canyon, 1 mi east of La Liebre Ranch, in S/2 sec. 14 (projected) and sec. 23, T. 8 N., R. 17 W., [La Liebre Ranch 7.5-min quadrangle, Los Angeles Co., CA]. Named from former school in Neenach 15-min quadrangle (Dibblee, 1967).
