Type locality: in parts of secs. 11, 13, and 14, T. 20 N., R. 9 E., and in part of sec. 18, T. 20 N., R. 10 E., Santa Fe Co., north-central NM (Galusha and Blick, 1971).
Type section: in sec. 11, T. 20 N., R. 9 E., Santa Fe Co., north-central NM. Named from the Nambe Indian Pueblo, 6 mi to south (Galusha and Blick, 1971).
