Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Stirton (1939) designated type locality for Minnechaduza Fauna on divide between Little Beaver and Crooked Creeks, in SW/4 SW/4 sec. 8, T. 34 N., R. 26 W., north pasture Niobrara Game Refuge, Cherry Co., central northern NE. Named from Minnechaduza Creek (Elias, 1942; US geologic names lexicon, USGS Bull. 1200).
