Type section: formation partially exposed in roadcut (locality LJf-3N-5E-8-aa) on east side of U.S. Highway 19, about 3.1 mi south of the GA-FL State line, [in NW/4 NW/4 sec. 31, T. 3 N., R. 5 E., Monticello 7.5-min quadrangle], Jefferson Co., northwestern FL (Hendry and Sproul, 1966).
[Alternate type section (subsurface):] formation complete in corehole WLN-2N-3E-8-aa, near town of Miccosukee, in NW/4 NW/4 sec. 8, T. 2 N., R. 3 E., [Miccosukee 7.5-min quadrangle], Leon Co., northwestern FL (Hendry and Yon, 1967).
