Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Named from occurrence in one large and several small bodies at head of McNulty Gulch, which runs north and enters Tenmile River at Carbonateville, Tenmile district, Summit Co., western central CO (Cross, 1886; see also Emmons, 1898).
