Type area: Lobato Mesa, alongside north and northeast fringes of Jemez Mountains, in T. 22 N., R. 6 E., Abiquiu quadrangle, Rio Arriba Co., NM. Well exposed on eastern escarpment of the mesa (Bailey and others, 1969).
