Type section: measured on southwest-trending spur in NW/4 sec. 29, T. 7 S., R. 40 E., to base of series of prominent cliffs, approx. 100 ft. below crest of Chesterfield Range, Bannock Co., ID. Named from Little Flat Canyon in Chesterfield Range (Dutro and Sando, 1963).
