Located 0.5 mi south of Little Elephant Mountain, and 1 mi west of Cave Creek, in sec. 8, T. 6 N., R. 4 E., Cave Creek quadrangle, northern Maricopa Co., AZ. Named from nearby Little Elephant Mountain. (Doorn and Pewe, 1991).
