Type locality (loc. U): in small abandoned quarry near mouth of Langhoff Gulch, about 7 km southeast of town of Granite, [in S/2 sec. 22, T. 12 S., R. 79 W.], Lat. 38 deg. 59 min. 17 sec. N., Long. 106 deg. 12 min. 45 sec. W., Harvard Lakes 7.5-min quadrangle, Chaffee Co., central CO. Named from Langhoff Gulch (Kellogg and others, 2017, USGS Sci. Inv. Map 3382, scale 1:50,000, p. 54).
