Type area: area of ancient Lake Tecopa, eastern Mojave Desert, in vicinity of Amargosa River and towns of Shoshone and Tecopa (Lat. 36 deg. 00 min. N., Long. 116 deg. 15 min. W.), Inyo Co., east-central CA (Morrison, 1991).
