Type section: 1 mi southeast of La Barge River bluffs in sec. 8, T. 26 N., R. 112 W., Lincoln Co., WY (Oriel, 1962).
Type area: along north side of La Barge Creek, a tributary of Green River, extending eastward from center SE/4 NE/4 sec. 17, T. 26 N., R. 113 W., to bluffs along east side of Green River (Oriel, 1962).
