Type section: measured along north side of Kilgore-Spencer Road [about 1 mi west of town of Spencer, western edge sec. 24], T. 12 N., R. 36 E., approx. Lat. 44 deg. 21 min. 8 sec. N., Long. 112 deg. 10 min. 26 sec. W.], Spencer South 7.5-min quadrangle, Clark Co., eastern Snake River Plain (northern margin), eastern ID. [Named from town of Kilgore, about 15 mi northwest of type section; name Spencer is used for another geologic unit and unavailable] (Morgan and McIntosh, 2005, Loc. 3).
