Type section: drift in the Shawangunk Mine, altitude 560 ft at base of Shawangunk Mountain, 2.3 mi northeast of Wurtsboro, NY. Unit named from High View, 2.5 mi south of the Shawangunk Mine, NY (Epstein, 1993).
