Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type locality: on north bluff of large arroyo that drains northwest past Julian Tank, northeast side of Oscura Mountains, in and near east portion of SE/4 sec. 31, T. 5 S., R. 6 E., [approx. Lat. 33 deg. 49 min. 48 sec. N., Long. 106 deg. 21 min. 15 sec. W., Garden Spring Canyon 7.5-min quadrangle], Socorro Co., central NM. Named from Hansonburg, headquarters of Bursam Ranch, about 5 mi east of north end of Oscura Mountains (Thompson, 1942).
