late Early Pennsylvanian (Bashkirian; Westphalian A; late Morrowan)


Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type locality: exposures at Grundy, Buchanan Co., southwestern VA (Chesnut, 1992).
Reference section (subsurface): No. 7 diamond drillhole, Elkhorn City quadrangle, southern Pike Co., KY (Chesnut, 1992).
