Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: Rice Bluff, in NW/4 NW/4 sec. 38, T. 5 S., R. 7 W., and bluff beneath power line near center of irregular sec. 38, T. 5 S., R. 7 W., west bank Pascagoula River, Jackson Co., MS. Named from old river crossing midway between the two bluffs, locally known as Graham Ferry (Brown and others, 1944).
