Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: in NE/4 sec. 22, T. 25 N., R. 11 E., Kettle Rock 15-min quadrangle, northern Sierra Nevada, [Plumas Co., CA] (McMath, 1966).
Type locality: east slope of Peale Ridge immediately west of Ward Creek. Named from Goodhue homestead on Ward Creek, in NE/4 SW/4 SW/4 sec. 14, T. 25 N., R. 11 E. The building is shown on earlier topographic maps, though not on the latest (Kettle Rock, 1950) (McMath, 1966).
