Type locality: in lower part of Schnebly Coulee, west of Vantage, [Vantage 7.5-min quadrangle], Kittitas Co., south-central WA. Named from Ginkgo Petrified Forest State Park, [Vantage 7.5-min quadrangle, Kittitas Co., south-central WA] (Mackin, 1961).
