Type section: exposures southeast of Gilliam Cemetery and along both sides of Gilliam Creek where it cuts through Chestnut Ridge, southwest of Looneys Gap in Clinch Mountain, Looneys Gap quadrangle, Hawkins Co., TN (Brent, 1982).
