Geode Creek Basalt (WY)
late Tertiary (Miocene and/or Pliocene)
Notable exposures in two small patches, one east of Geode Creek and other about 1 mi northwest of Crescent Hill, Yellowstone National Park, northwestern WY. The southern patch, the higher of the two, reaches elevation between 7,300 and 7,400 ft (Howard, 1937).
