Near Fontana, in roadcuts at northeast corner sec. 11, T. 18 S., R. 23 E., and at middle of west side of NW/4 sec. 36, T. 18 S., R. 23 E., Miami Co., eastern KS. Named from Fontana (Newell, 1935).
