Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Extensive pavement outcrops along and directly beneath the bridge over Sougahatchee Creek, in SW/4 sec. 18, T. 19 N., R. 25 E., Lee Co., east-central AL. Named from Farmville City where it is well exposed along AL Highway 147, across from Farmville Church (Steltenpohl and others, 1990).
