Type section: exposures along Stagg Creek, beginning at Hanover Country Club, 0.2 mi (0.3 km) north of VA Highway 54, south to the contact with Petersburg Granite, Hanover Academy quadrangle, Hanover Co., VA. Named from Falling Creek, 2.1 mi (3.4 km) northwest of Ashland (Weems, 1980).
