Type section: exposures along KY Highway 52, east of Drowning Creek, near Winston, Panola quadrangle, Estill Co., KY.
Reference section: Along KY Highway 10, lower part southwest of Cabin Creek and upper part northeast of Cabin Creek, Tollesboro quadrangle, Lewis Co., KY (McDowell, 1983).
