Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: outcrop 1.5 mi east of Dowelltown, DeKalb Co., TN (Campbell, 1946). [Hass (1956) did not find Campbell's type section at designated distance, but he considered an exposure 3.1 mi east of Dowelltown on an abandoned part of TN Highway 26 as Campbell's type locality.]
